Tips to Choosing the Perfect Mothers Day Gift

By: Jeff D McQueen

If you choose a flower arrangement as your Mother's Day gift, that's just the first step. You'll also need to determine which mothers day flowers you want to include in the arrangement, and how to arrange them. Here are some tips to help you succeed:

1. Choose the right vase.

When creating your flower arrangement, the container that you put it in can be just as crucial as the actual flowers that you choose. Consider factors such as the shape and size of the vase, in order to complement the flowers inside it. To help highlight the flowers themselves, conceal the stems and grid inside the vase, by using a clay or colored variety.

2. Cover your bases.

You can take certain measures to control how much a viewer sees of your arrangement. If you want to hide the foam inside the vase, use pebbles, shells, or marbles to help conceal it. Another reason to add these items at the bottom of the vase is to provide some added stability. They're needed as both the foam and the flowers themselves are somewhat lightweight.

3. Create a great grid.

This is a crucial part of the flowers for mothers day arrangement. The grid doesn't have to be extremely fancy. In fact, if you're using a clay or colored vase, you can simply use a basic container with drilled holes at the bottom. What's crucial is that the holes are large enough to accommodate the flowers' stems.

4. Work from the center-outwards.

This is definitely the most effective approach when creating an arrangement of artificial flowers. Make sure to create enough space between the different flowers. You could even add some faux greenery to create an appearance of space. Also, space out the flowers both vertically and horizontally. Afterwards, start working outwards, towards the perimeter of the vase. Within time, you'll have created the perfect Mothers' Day flower arrangement!

5. Add some pizzazz.

To add some color to your arrangement, consider adding items such as flowers with sparkly stems. Don't overdo it! Just pepper the arrangement with these eye-catching flowers, to improve the aesthetic value of your Mother's Day flower arrangement.

6. Include variety.

When arranging your flowers for mothers day, make sure to include flowers with a variety of sizes and shapes. This will help to make the arrangement more eye-catching. You can even snip some of the flowers' stems, to vary the height of the different pieces. How should you juxtapose flowers? Choose flowers that complement each other. This could be in terms of color, shape, and so on. The process will partly involve your prior knowledge about the color wheel and spacing. However, you should also do some experimentation. Sometimes doing some mixing and matching of different flowers will help you to create the perfect blend. Keep at it until you find it!

If you want to create a Mother's Day flower arrangement that last and lasts, consider using these tips to create a gorgeous one using artificial flowers. Your mother or wife will remember it long after the special day.
